2. “The service was incredibly personal and friendly in this family-run boutique hotel. They helped with everything from car hire to places to visit, to restaurant recommendations etc. Being served breakfast on your own private terrace each morning was a lovely touch, as was the welcome champagne and fruit platter on our first night. The food was also great, with huge portions!!The unobstructed view out over the caldera from both the rooms and the pool area is unbeatable. I was a little apprehensive at first about being so far away from the main towns but actually this offered a better view and more privacy than you'd have got anywhere nearer.The rooms were beautifully appointed and a very pleasant surprise for someone who was used to the usual Greek basic accommodation style.”

5. “Exclusive, quiet, serene, peaceful, Astarte Suites was superb. The chef was excellent, and ordering a delicious gourmet meal in your private suite overlooking the Caldera was better than trekking into town for your normal dining experience. The infinity pool has huge bean-bags that cradle your body and you can dangle your feet right over the edge with an unobscured view of Fira, the Caldera and watch the cruise ships and sailboats slowly drifting by.”
